Agents conducting surveillance tried to stop his vehicle; an officer fired as he allegedly tried to drive away. No body cameras. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin first claimed he was the target of a warrant, then admitted he was not the intended target.
Lorenzo Salgado Araujo
In the U.S. 35 years. No criminal record. Father of three U.S.-citizen children; owned a small construction business with his family. Shot in the abdomen through his van window at ~6:50am while driving his crew to a job site. DHS admits he was not the target — agents were looking for someone else. Harris County's medical examiner ruled the death a HOMICIDE. No body cameras. Family disputes ICE's claim that he "weaponized" the van.

ICU nurse at Minneapolis VA. No criminal record. Had valid permit to carry. Shot 9 times while on the ground. Video shows he was holding a phone, not a gun. Grew up in Green Bay, WI. Was an avid outdoorsman and competitive bicycle racer.

Father of two. Shot by off-duty ICE agent Brian Palacios on New Year's Eve while firing celebratory shots in the air — a common tradition. Family says he posed no threat to anyone.

Mexican national wearing camouflage spotted near border. Fled on foot when agents approached. Agent claims 2-minute "active struggle" before shooting him 3 times. Pronounced dead at Starr County Hospital. No agent has ever been convicted of a killing in CBP's 100-year history.
Silverio Villegas González
Father of two. Worked as a cook. Had just dropped his child at school. Shot in the back of the neck at close range. No criminal history. DHS claimed agent was "dragged" by car, but bodycam shows agent saying injuries were "nothing major."
